Oxford (Serial) Commas¶
Explanation¶
PerfectIt can be customized to check that the use of Oxford commas is consistent with the user’s specified preference.
Example¶
If you choose to use Oxford commas, PerfectIt will identify locations such as before the final ‘and’ in this sentence:
She owned a dog, a cat and a mouse.
Customizing the Check¶
By default, PerfectIt will not check for Oxford commas. To turn this check on, open the style sheet editor. Then click Settings and choose your preference as in the image below:
It is possible to change the sensitivity of the check in the Fine-Tuning tab of the style sheet editor.
