In order to access The Chicago Manual of Style for PerfectIt you will need a valid subscription to CMOS Online with more than two months left on your subscription. If you have less than two months left, please renew your CMOS Online subscription before proceeding.
The following instructions are for existing PerfectIt subscribers on both Windows and Mac (if you have not yet purchased PerfectIt, you can link your account when you purchase).
Log in to the Members Area of the PerfectIt website. Then click “Connect Your Account” for The Chicago Manual of Style to start the license validation process:
Once the process has completed a pop-up will show you your new linked license key that will allow you to activate The Chicago Manual of Style for PerfectIt, along with a quick guide on how to do that. You can access your new license key at any time in the Members Area:

If you’re using the Mac version of PerfectIt you can use The Chicago Manual of Style in PerfectIt Cloud right away. Simply:
If you’re using the Windows version you’ll need to update to PerfectIt 5, then activate The Chicago Manual of Style in PerfectIt with your new license key.
If you haven't updated to PerfectIt 5 then do that first. Instructions are here.
Then open MS Word and launch PerfectIt from the ribbon. It may take a few minutes to import your styles.
Select Chicago Manual of Style from the list of available styles.
To access The Chicago Manual of Style for PerfectIt click “Activate”. Paste your new linked license key into the Linked Key field and click “Submit”:
The Chicago Manual of Style for PerfectIt is now available for you to use.
